MY WILD LOVE TEA
A fruity blend high in vitamins and minerals. This tea is a blend of hibiscus, Chamomile, lemongrass, raspberry leaf, rose hips, and lemon peel.
This is a customer favorite and can be served hot, iced, or as a cold brew. It is a popular choice for children since it contains nutritive herbs that are high in Vitamin C, B vitamins, calcium, potassium, and antioxidants. It can be a little tart so adding agave or honey (and a little apple juice for the little ones) can soften the tartness and help round out the flavor.
Hibiscus is very high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids (which are most commonly known for their antioxidant activity). It is high in Vitamin C, Beta-carotene, calcium, and iron. Hibiscus has traditionally been used to support healthy iron levels in people with anemia. Since Hibiscus is a member of the Mallow family, it has demulcent properties that help coat and soothe the mucus membranes. This flower makes a refreshing, iced summer drink that quenches your thirst on a hot day and can not only cool you down, but help you stay hydrated.
Chamomile has been used for centuries to promote relaxation, aid restlessness and help with sleep, as well as menstrual cramps, and even mild skin irritations. It helps boost the immune system, reduces inflammation, and may help fight off bacterial infection since it has antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties. Drinking chamomile tea also reduces abdominal gas and relieves inflammation in the digestive tract.
Lemongrass is citrusy and bright in flavor that reportedly has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has traditionally been used as a pain reliever and fever reducer. It contains calcium, Vitamin C, and iron and is a rich source of flavonoids and antioxidants. Lemongrass helps detoxify the body, support the immune system, relaxes our nervous system, eases anxiety, improves sleep, and more!
Raspberry Leaf is a nutritive herb that also contains calcium and Vitamin C but it has a host of other vitamins and nutrients as well like Vitamin A (which boosts our immune response and helps keep white blood cells abundant and healthy), Iron, potassium and magnesium. Magnesium is an essential mineral that nourishes nerves and muscles while helping your body convert food to energy.
Rose hips are loaded with Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant with many disease fighting abilities, and is necessary for the proper function of our immune system. It is essential in the production of collagen, and for maintaining the health of our bones, cartilage and teeth. Rose hips also have bioflavonoids which enhance your body's absorption of vitamin C and strengthen connective tissue. My favorite thing about rose hips are their tonic quality to help give you an energy boost.
Lemon Peel, again is full of antioxidants and vitamin C, but did you know the peel also helps to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, reduce hay fever symptoms, improve blood vessel function, aid in digestion, and more?
