This is a great morning wake up blend.
Dark roast Yaupon Tea, Dandelion Leaf, Yerba Mate, Chicory root, Cinnamon, and Orange Peel.
Full bodied, roasted, and bold, this tea drinks as if its somewhere between black tea and coffee. It tastes great on its own or sweetened and with any milk of your choice.
Yaupon Tea has a smooth and natural sweetness. It has a low tannin content so it doesn't get as bitter as some black teas. It has a much lower caffeine content than coffee so you get the energy boost without jitters. It is full of antioxidants, is anti-inflammatory, protects the heart, helps balance the gut microbiome, and may help protect your brain.
Dandelion leaf is a great herb for gently stimulating the liver, supporting the kidneys, promoting the body's natural detoxification process, and boosting healthy digestion. It is high in potassium, calcium, phosphorous, and carotenes. They also have a high level of inulin which are beneficial to gut flora.
Yerba Mate is great for increasing mental alertness, not only because of the caffeine but also because of all the vitamins and minerals. It is high in antioxidants, Chlorophyll, B vitamins, Amino Acids, Polyphenols, vitamin A, vitamin B1, B2, B3, and B5; vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, sodium, sulfur, and zinc. Yerba Mate helps boost the immune system, the metabolism, and helps sustain energy levels. It also contains theobromine and theophylline. These alkaloids work together with naturally induced dopamine to create a mild stimulant effect that differs from the traditional caffeine jolt so you get the energy and mood boost that coffee can provide but with more benefits to your health.
Chicory Root, besides giving this brew a coffee like flavor, it also has inulin which is a prebiotic fiber. Orange Peel is full of Vitamin C, contains lots of pectins to lower cholesterol, it’s a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, lowers blood pressure, helps with insulin resistance, boosts up our immune system, and heals lots of health challenges.
